Browse Creators and Subjects

If the Browse Creators and Browse Subjects links have been implemented, you can use them to have a display generated of Creator names and Subject terms, respectively. These index displays of search terms provide a "window" into the composition of the collections held by this Archive.

From these index-display pages, you can browse to identify terms or names to include in a search — or you can make one or more selections to have searches directly executed. The number in brackets represents the number of records that contain the term.

To browse:

  • use the Page Up or Page Down buttons.
  • or, in the Show Terms Near box, enter a character, string of characters, or a word to move to a particular part of the alphabetically arranged term listing.
The search terms in the two indexes sort in this order: special characters, numbers, and alphabetic characters.
